Who can submit an Enquiry

Anyone may submit a general enquiry to the Office of the Military Ombud, including:

  • SANDF members and former members
    Members of the public
  • Government departments and public institutions
  • Civil society organisations, legal practitioners, and media.

About Us

In terms of the Military Ombud Act, No. 4 of 2012, the Office is mandated to investigate written complaints lodged by current and former members of the Defence Force regarding their conditions of service, as well as complaints from members of the public regarding the official conduct of a member of the Defence Force, and a person acting on behalf of a member.
