Strengthening Awareness, Access, and Accountability
The Office of the Military Ombud conducted a Community Outreach Programme aimed at improving awareness of the Ombud’s mandate, services, and complaint processes among members of the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and the broader defence community.
This engagement forms part of the Office’s ongoing efforts to ensure that military personnel and affected parties are informed of their rights and are able to access independent, impartial, and effective complaint resolution mechanisms.






The Office of the Military Ombud is an independent institution established to investigate complaints against the South African National Defence Force (SANDF) and to ensure that such complaints are resolved in a fair, economical and expeditious manner, in line with the Military Ombud Act.
